As part of workshops with schools, we are challenging every student to collect as many elastic / plastic bands & rings as possible. These can be found in parks, playgrounds or at home - bottle and jar seals, bands around herbs/veggies, discarded hair ties etc. Each school has one month to take part in the challenge. Every band must be cut up and placed in the jar. 

After the month, we return to count all the bands. At the end of the year, the school that has collected the most bands will win a fantastic prize.

We hope that this month-long challenge will turn into a lifetime habit; one that will protect not just platypus, but many, many other animals, birds and marinelife.
